Men
and women cause different car accidents
GERMNAY
- Car accidents caused by men and women differ substantially
although both sexes cause about the same number of collisions,
according to recent German research.

Women
mainly cause accidents at low speed for instance by missing a
yield sign whereas men are often responsible for an accident
while speeding, according to research conducted by the Medical-
Psychological Institute of the Technical Monitoring Association
(TUeV).
“Men
have a tendency to express their self-esteem by driving a car
with men especially under 30 taking a high risk,” traffic
psychologist Bernd Pund said.
Women on
the other hand were more safety conscious with a tendency to
avoid dangerous situations. “Their driving is of a more polite
and defensive nature. Men however have a better sense of
orientation, see to it that the car is serviced properly and is
in a safe condition,” according to the psychologist.
