Drinking
plenty of water helps reduce risk of dry skin when flying
HAMBURG - Drinking
plenty of water before and during a flight can help reduce the
dry skin that many people get while flying.
About 24 hours before a
flight and during the flight, passengers should drink a lot of
water, the Hamburg-published magazine Healthy Living reported in
its June edition.
Air conditioning inside
the cabin reduces the amount of moisture in the air by about 20
per cent one hour after take off. As a result the skin dries out
quickly.
Passengers should take
timely measures to prevent dry skin. A peeling the night before
a trip allows the skin to absorb moisturizers, the magazine
said. On the morning of a flight, the skin should be patted dry
and treated with a thick lotion. During the flight, the magazine
said it was advisable to spray the face with warm water and pat
it dry.
