Do you agree with the fatwa issued against the Indian rape
victim Imrana?
The
fatwa against Imrana is blown over... so many things need to
be realised before coming to a conclusion. No alim or mufti
will tell you she has to stay with her father in law as a wife
or treat her husband as son, this makes no sense.
Secondly,
I am, even while putting myself in the situation (god forbid),
completely with the shariah that her marriage is nullified. No
matter how much we love our husbands and they want us back,
there is no denying the fact that though we see the man as our
rapist it is still his father.
Imagine
what a husband will go through to have a wife and face this
situation. He can hate his father, call him a monster but the
fact that there was a forceful liaison is enough for him to
avoid his wife.
And
lastly, there has been news that this could all be a feud for
property where the father in law wanted to sell the house and
the son and wife were against it... probably never thought it
would get media attention...though God knows best, we better
do a proper research before giving our own FATWA
(opinion).

It’s
not a question of agree or disagree over the fatwa against
Imrana for an individual who is a third party to it. A
community has religious laws, which are meant to protect and
help its people to lead peaceful private and social life, let
them enact it.
Whether
we agree or disagree the law will remain, since it is from God
The Al Mighty, and laws are laid down to be followed. There is
no law, which pleases everyone, the law of God is a moderate
plank where all can come to an agreement.

No,
the fatwa, which was issued was a great fitna. Allah save us
from all this type of fitnah (Ameen).

No,
the father in law should be given punishment for 20 years jail
sentence.

Fatwa
or religious decree on any subject is only applicable only to
the 'believers' and those who have faith in Shariah. I
believe, in Imrana's case fatwa issued by local Daar-ul-uloom
was in accordance with Shariat law. If she is believer and has
a complete faith in the institution then she has to comply
with what shariat dictates. One cannot act on personal whims
and fancy on issues closely related to society.
