Do you approve of the new proposal to grant foreign women
married to UAE nationals citizenship after 10 years in lieu of
3 years?
In
other countries, like the UK for instance, an expatriate woman
who marries a British subject is entitled to a UK passport if
she resides in the UK for 3 years. There is no logic for
extending the period to 10 years unless the authorities
mistrust an expat's motive to marry nationals.
If
this is the case, this is another form of covert racism that
in essence says that there is something exceptional to be
gained by marrying a national. With incredibly high divorce
and polygamy rates among nationals (married to nationals), I
think not.

Yes
I do approve of the new proposal and why not. Marriage is
marriage and love is love. You can easily get connected and
have chemistry with anyone in the world so why restrict
yourself. I would say go for it.
